My name is Andrew Peeler and I am currently the sole proprietor at Hillspring Counseling Center. I grew up in a small farm and ranch community just south of San Antonio, Texas. I was always outdoors and I continue that trend as much as I can as an adult. My family moved to west Texas for my junior high and high school years. I attended Texas A&M University out of high school and I’m a 2005 graduate with a Bachelors of Science in Psychology. I moved to Dallas, Texas and worked in the Petroleum software sales industry. Needless to say I recognized quickly that this area of work was not my calling. After moving to and living in England with my wife for a year, I returned to Dallas and obtained my Masters in Professional Counseling Licensure through Amberton University and was supervised by Dr. Carolyn Maurer. I split my time between two different counseling facilities after my graduation. Through CounselingWorks and Wellspring Counseling I experienced an eclectic mix of clientele but found myself gravitating toward the specialties that are listed under counseling services. Check those out for some more detail. I also continue to serve as a state facilitator for Reel Recovery, an organization that provides outdoor fly fishing retreats for men who have or are currently fighting cancer. Incorporating the outdoors into my counseling sessions has been and will increasingly be an important component of my process due to the abundant outdoor resources we have in our community.
On a personal note, I’m lucky enough to have married my high school sweetheart and best friend. We have two wonderful children who keep us young along with a spoiled, curly haired dog. Our home is set on some acreage in the hill country town of Wimberley and find that our town’s moniker, “A little bit of Heaven”, is a very true statement. We love travel, the great outdoors, food expeditions, and simply being together.
